Estates Operations Director
The University of Nottingham is a truly global institution, with 46,000 students across three campuses in the UK, China and Malaysia; we are proud of our pioneering spirit and our distinctive approach to internationalisation.
In an increasingly competitive environment, it is vital to further build and enhance the University’s reputation through the development of our estate and smooth operation of our facilities. Our mission is to deliver a high quality environment in a professional, efficient, cost effective and customer focused manner, to enable the University to meet its aims today and in the future.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in contributing to the student experience through the look and feel of our campuses. You will work closely with the Director of Estates and Facilities to develop and deliver strategic plans in support of the University’s overall strategy. You will also have responsibility for the estate’s operations plan, working in partnership with senior leaders and key stakeholders both at our UK and overseas campuses, and be accountable for driving the performance of all operational services teams across estates and facilities, ensuring that individuals have the support they need and the capabilities to deliver.
We are looking for an exceptional leader who can deliver a culture of high performance, collaboration and continuous improvement. Being commercially aware with the ability to drive value, you will be adept at leading strategic projects, developing effective controls and managing risks, whilst influencing and communicating effectively to shape operational plans.
To be successful, you must be educated to degree level (or equivalent) with membership of an appropriate professional body and have experience of operating at a senior strategic level in estates and facilities operations in a large scale, complex organisation. Additionally, your customer focused approach and experience of driving forward strategic change programmes that deliver operational efficiencies will be essential.
We are committed to providing competitive employment packages whilst supporting the wellbeing of our staff to help them reach their full potential. As a University employee, you will have access to a range of benefits and rewards, including leading fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with a generous holiday allowance and a highly attractive pension scheme.
